GPS Antenna

  • Original Antenna - Difficult to get satellites over 30 when placed under center speaker grill, and Google Maps jumps all over the place when navigating. 10-15ft accuracy.
  • Fakra Male Plug GPS Capable of getting a few satellites around 30. Haven't had any jumps in Google Maps. 3-10ft accuracy.
  • Active GPS Antenna Fakra Has good reviews. May be worth trying.

Screen Protector

  • Some people are trying this screen protector. Please post opinions once received.

Mobile data and Wifi Antenna

  • Original Antenna - Not very strong signal, and bounces around between LTE, 3G, and EDGE in places where phone gets solid LTE signal.
  • Proxicast 3G/4G/LTE 3.5 dBi NOT an improvement. May get slightly better signal, but fast.com showed consistently slower speeds than original.

Thoughts: One option may be to use the OEM antenna for MMI 3G High cars. It's the pink plug (not pink 4 prong found on Low cars) on the back of the mmi. A farka to sma connector plus extension could work. Still, I don't know what frequencies the stock antenna supports, or if it will throw a code when removed. When searching for an improved antenna, finding one that supports US frequencies seems to be a problem. Many dont support as low as 1700mhz, or as high as 1900mhz for Tmobile LTE. Keep this in mind based on your carrier.
